Pizhichil treatment in Ayurveda, is a combination of oil massage and heat treatment. The word meaning of Pizhichil in local language literally means squeezing. The patient is made to lie down in an average human-sized wooden container. A bundle of cloth is then dipped into the heated oil and then squeezed slowly. Then an experienced masseur would knead the bundle all over the patients body (except head) in a gentle, synchronized manner.
